How to configure a timestamping server in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC?
Some documents requires to be signed and timestamped to obtain a legal or a tax value. It i the case of (French) electronic invoices (among others).
You can configure your Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (the free version can be used to sign and timestamp documents) to timestamp documents. To do so, you need to indicate which timestamping server to use.
We are using Certigna timestamping server supplying eIDAS qualified timestamps for our example.
Configuration
- Open the software
- In the tool bar, click on "Edit / Preferences"
- Then on "Security" / "Configure Server Settings" / "More…"
- "Time Stamp Servers" / "New"
- Name (qualified timestamping for instance)
- Server URL (https://timestamp.dhimyotis.com/...)
- Tick "This server requires me to log on"
