Recognition of third part certificates in Acrobat Reader
By default, only the certificates issued by certification authorities in partnership with Adobe are recognized. To activate the recognition of third part certificates you can:
- Import the authorities certificates you want to be recognized
- Under Windows, use the Window certificates registry as a complement (non advised)
- Import TBS X509 / Sectigo certificates into Adobe
- Importation of Certigna certificates in Adobe
- Importation of TBS X509 certificates in Foxit PhantomPDF
- Importation of ChamberSign certificates in Adobe
- Configure Acrobat Reader 6+ to check the PDFs by using Windows registry
Here is the visible display when a PDF is signed by a certificate not recognized by adobe (blue bar on top)
