Import a PKCS 12 certificate for Outlook Express

If you have a PKCS 12 file (.pfx or .p12 extension) containing a certificate and if you want to use it with Outlook Express, you will have to import it first.

To do so, use Internet Explorer:

• Go to Tools / Options / Content / Certificates
• In the Personal tab, click Import
• A wizard opens
• Select the file you want to import
• Enter the password
• Select Enable strong private key protection
• And tick the case: Mark this key as exportable
• Tick the default storage selection box.

Your certificate has been imported. If the PKCS 12 file contains a certification chain, it has been imported as well.
